About The Ready For School Program

The Ready for School OT at Home program has been designed to help equip children with the skills they need to start school strong. Focusing on 5 different developmental areas, the program works on the developing muscles needed for functional school skills from the inside out. 

Throughout the program, children are exposed to activities that allow them to:

  • Develop gross and fine motor skills
  • Develop coordination and balance
  • Develop cognitive skills
  • Develop language and communication skills
  • Engage in sensory experiences
  • Increase their ability to follow instructions
  • Develop critical thinking skills and creativity
  • Build on attention and focus on set task

Designed for ages 4-8 years.

Why Are These Skills Important For School?

The skills we focus on in this program are important for everyday childhood activities such as 

Colouring, cutting, writing, manipulating buttons, and twisting open containers (like a tube of toothpaste or a twist-top glue stick).

Learning to write and hold a pencil

Establishing and maintaining friendships

Emotional resilience when experiencing new things

Partaking in physical activities

Following instructions and maintain focus

What's Included?

The Ready For School OT at Home program covers a diverse range of skill-building activities and comes with an online program and a toolbox of supportive and adaptive tools and equipment.

Online Program includes 5 key modules for full body development in the following areas:

  • Module 1: Gross Motor skills
  • Module 2: Core Strength, Vestibular System and Proprioception skills
  • Module 3: Language and Communication skills, and Emotional Regulation skills
  • Module 4: Hand and Shoulder strength building activities
  • Module 5: Fine Motor skills

Toolbox includes: 

  • Ready For School workbooks for scissor skills and prewriting skills
  • Facilitator Guides for each module to provide guidance to all of your child's supports in implementing the program and to further understand progress through the levels of skill development 
  • Card sets including emotion cards, nursery rhyme cards and core strengthening cards
  • Creative project materials for practising skills regularly at home
  • Physical resources to encourage strength and skill building through movement that feels like play

Paying For Your OTAH Program

There are two ways to pay for your OT at Home Program. At the checkout, you can choose to:

Pay via Invoice (capacity building or core) and we will send out an invoice

Option 2
Pay Now via credit card

NDIS Information

Our OT at Home Programs may be available for purchase with NDIS funds (capacity building or core).

As an NDIS registered provider, we are really mindful of the operational guidelines and reasonable and necessary criteria. We provide Outcome Reports for each of our programs to ensure that participants are measuring and reporting their progress.
