This may be a sign that your child does not have a strong core.

Our bodies develop from the inside out, so in order for us to be skilled in daily activities such as handwriting, we must first have a strong core. A strong core builds the foundation of your child’s ability to control their arms and legs. It enables them to sit at a table or stand for the duration of an activity. Poor core strength can result in poor posture which can affect gross and fine motor skills.

Some of the best ways for children to develop their core strength is through tummy time (as an infant), play (running, jumping, crawling and exploring an unstructured environment) and some easy exercises you can do together.
